Art painting workshop on Ærø

Art course on Ærø.

Art courses for adults with or without accommodation. Centrally located in the beautiful Ærøskøbing.

The course is aimed at everyone. For those who will try to work with art/painting for the first time - and for those who have experience with art/painting.

I have taken over this beautiful house in central Ærøskøbing, where I now can offer art/painting courses.

What is the price?

The price for a art/painting course with accommodation in a shared double room: 

3,000 DKK per person. If you register before 15 Dec. 2024, you will receive a 500 DKK discount.

The Price for a art/painting course with accommodation in a single room:

5,000 DKK per person. If you register before 15 Dec. 2024, you will receive a 500 DKK discount.

The price for a art/painting course without accommodation:

2,200 DKK per person. If you register before 15 Dec. 2024, you will receive a 500 DKK discount.

Breakfast can be purchased at Cafe KEFS next door – and is paid in the cafe.

If you cancel no later than 1 month before the start of the course, the amount paid will be refunded minus 500 DKK.

Number of participants?

The maximum number of participants is 6 people per course in total.

Including accommodation: max 4 people in 2 shared double rooms.

Exclusive accommodation: up to 6 people (depending on the number of overnight participants).

How does the course plan look like?

 Friday, Saturday and Sunday: We meet at 10 am in the house's kitchen. The day starts with a presentation from me. With inspiration and exercises of various kinds. After that, you work independently with individual guidance from me.

There is a lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm. In the afternoon you can continue working or exploring the island as you wish. Each participant can also book an hour of exclusive one-on-one guidance.

You can choose to end the days with yoga at 5 pm-6 pm. This is agreed from day to day.

Who is Beth Mohr?

My name is Beth Mohr and I am an artist: I`m educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam – Gerrit Rietveld Academie. I also have a degree in teaching. I have long experience teaching within the artistic field, from various workshops, my own courses and from teaching at colleges. Some practical information:

You will have your own studio space, which will be available between 9 am to 8 pm, where you can work whenever you want.

You will receive instruction together with the other participants and individually. every day between 10 am and 1 pm. As well as a private lesson by appointment.

If you would like to end the day with practice yoga at 5 pm – 6 pm, that is an option, as I am also a trained as a yoga instructor. These appointments vary from day to day.

If you have chosen “inclusive accommodation”, you will stay in a shared room in the house as where we work. You have access to a shared kitchen, shared bathroom and toilet and a courtyard. If you wish to choose another accommodation – and still participate in the course, this is an opportunity to a reduce price.

Breakfast can be purchased. If you choose to purchase breakfast, you will eat at the neighboring Café Kefs. The price for brunch per person per day is: 159 DKK with coffee & juice, bread and cheese and yogurt and eggs…. All meals are your own responsibility. You can prepare food in my kitchen – or choose to eat in town.

What should I bring?

Bed linen, towels, paint (not oil paint), canvases, brushes, palettes, rags, paper, pencils, masking tape, painting supplies - and anything else you need. It is only possible to buy a few artist supplies on Ærø, so it is a good idea to bring plenty.

What to do at Ærø when I`m not doing art?

There is the opportunity to experience the island on your own or with the other students. Ærø is very beautiful - so hiking and cycling (bikes can be rented in Ærøskøbing) are recommended.

In addition, Ærøskøbing has "Denmark's smallest cinema" and if you want to go winter swimming, "everything is water next to Ærø". There is a sauna at the harbor in Ærøskøbing - and a wood-fired sauna at Søby Camping. I am happy to help arranging visits.
